中医典故 Compendium of Chinese Medical
Wisdom [English]

By XIA Yun, XU Jingsheng

Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM) is an integral part of Chinese traditional culture, and is the only traditional medical system in the world that had survived thousands of years and remains in practice. To understand Chinese medical culture, one needs to approach from the angles of pharmacy, ethics, classics, and social impacts of TCM. Compendium of Chinese Medical Wisdom contains inspirational stories about ethical doctors and noble individuals, as well as broadly relevant principles such as “applying medicine according to the symptom” “extreme joy begets sorrow” “better preventing disease than treating it” and so on. Informative and interesting, these contents are of both medical and humanistic concerns. It is much more portable and friendly to English speakers and learners who are interested in TCM and Chinese traditional culture in general.
