A poetic reflection on history, nature, and life by Su Shi The Red Cliff Rhapsody is a masterpiece of prose poetry by Su Shi, a renowned literary figure of the Northern Song Dynasty. Written during his exile in Huangzhou, the piece recounts a boat journey along the Yangtze River with friends, in search of the historic site of the ancient battle. As they admire the breathtaking scenery and reflect on the legendary heroes of the past, Su Shi weaves his personal emotions into the narrative, offering profound philosophical insights on life and destiny.
About the Author:
Zhangyi HUA, an illustrator, graduated from the China Academy of Art with a degree in Illustration and Comics. Specializing in traditional Chinese painting styles, her work is characterized by delicate brushwork and rich imagination. Her piece Summer Fruits was selected for the National Watercolor Illustration Exhibition: Illustration in Media, while Hua’s Mat was featured in the 2nd China Illustration Art Exhibition. Her illustration work The Peony Pavilion won the Lin Fengmian Creative Gold Award, and The Song of the Pipa received the Gold Award for Best Picture Book at the 21st China Golden Dragon Award for Animation and Comics.
