Introduction:
What happens after the story ends? Stories don’t stop at the final page. Every reader wonders what could happen next. This creative book set inspires kids to imagine new endings, create sequels, and stretch their storytelling muscles. With guidance from real authors, kids learn how to develop ideas, build characters, and craft imaginative extensions to stories they love.
The “And then What?” series consists of 8 volumes, each filled with imaginative stories that feature even more “brain-burning” open-ended conclusions, allowing each reader to have their own unique interpretation. The “And then what?” series will guide readers from picture book reading to text reading, helping children easily fall in love with reading amidst laughter.
1. Pioneering the open-ended conclusion of “And then what?”, breaking away from the traditional closed and singular storytelling.
The questioning endings address children’s curiosity, inviting them to continue the creation and fully respecting their independent reading and individual thinking. The stories are no longer in a single form as penned by the author; the right to develop the story shifts into the hands of the young readers, enhancing children’s initiative in reading and their motivation to create.
2. Unlocking the wonderful experiences in everyday life to nurture children’s innocence and nature. The stories in the entire set start from children’s daily life experiences, boldly breaking stereotypes and exploring truths. Does the moon really cut the ears of a rabbit? Can the orange seeds swallowed actually sprout in the body? Facing life and death realistically, how is life passed on from the seeds? How do flowers bloom from stones? Daring to unleash imagination, discovering possibilities — is there really a little monster that eats words in life? Have fairy tales been scrambled? Taking brave actions to realize dreams, who says children cannot be experts? Who says children cannot save the Earth?
3. Each book comes with personalized reading suggestions and easily understandable vocabulary explanations, specifically cultivating children’s ability for independent reading. Detailed reading suggestions are tailored for different age groups based on children’s mental development, helping parents and children understand the characteristics of each book. Vocabulary cards at the end correspond to the page numbers in the text, allowing children to enjoy reading while consolidating in-class knowledge and improving their literacy outside of school.
